I think it is interesting that Rick felt it necessary to compare numbers. Kind of reminds me of the WT quotas.
Totally unecessary. Like Simon said, different things appeal to different people.

H20 Thinks Biggest Is Best.
by Englishman inwhen i first posted on this site, there were, i think, around 300 registered users.
now the number of registered users is about to reach 1000 in the very near future.
over on h20 the numbers have decreased, but the community owner, rick, appears to be mesmerised by the idea that it is still much bigger, and biggest is best, as this excerpt from a recent post shows:.

Hi Norm,
I am a little confused. This is probably not the place to post this, but I hope you will see it!
On another thread you were mentioning why you still believed the WT Org. was the truth.
On this thread you mention you have been out for twelve years.
I am interested in knowing what your position really is?

The dilema of Uncle onion.
by uncle_onion inmy dilemma.
those of you who know me personally and via the web will know that i am a studious person.
now take a look at genesis 36:31. this verse says these were the kings who reigned in edom before any israelite king reigned.. at the time of writing genesis, they were no kings of israel.

I know Wendy did not post that pornographic site on this board. She is not like that and I for one do not appreciate people posting under someone elses name. This is not ethical, and very disturbing. Especially such a disgusting thing as this.

Whats an Apostate
by hippikon inwas luther an apostate, or hus or wykliffe or calvin.?.
and what about the lollards the waldenses or the anabaptists were they all apostate?.
or were they just standing up for what they thought was right?.

Hippikon,
First of all welcome to the board.
I left the JW's for various reasons. I had a real problem with the application of John 13:35 within the org. Couldn't see it being carried out. As this is one of the main identifying marks of true religion, by the Society's own definition, that is what started my journey out. I da'ed in June of 2000.
After leaving I found many inconsistencies which added to my other reasons. What is an apostate?
Jesus was born, raised, and baptized as a Jew. He spent his whole life teaching and preaching a message which conflicted with the Jewish faith. This fits the definition of apostate.

Their Time Will Come.....
by ISP indespite an abundance of evidence that hits at the heart of the wts, it should be no surprise that many seem to ignore everything and continue.
you may wonder why particularly as many of us were in the wts and did not ignore the comprehensive mass of proof against the claims and teachings made.
typically brothers can enjoy themselves as elders.

Excellent post Isp, and your additional thoughts were very thought provoking too.
Shauna, your description of Dick Williams, could be a description of my father.
I have wondered about these things so much. Because, my father is so very intelligent, and yet he stays with the org. I think perhaps he is an inside reformer. He has also uttered the words "Even if all the beliefs aren't correct, it is still the best way of life. Your Mother and I have talked about leaving, but where would we go?".
It does little to give me peace of mind, but it does help me to try to be patient.
Thank you all, for putting my thoughts and I'm sure many others in print.

God's will or free will?
by thinker ini've heard many people tell me about bible prophesy.
if the bible can predict future events then it stands to reason that those events are predetermined and man has no choices in this world.
think about all the choices you've made in your life and how different life for you would be if you had done things differently.

Thank you Larc! Just been really busy last few days and hadn't gotten back to read. All of what you said made a truck load of sense as usual.

false alarm
by unanswered ini went out to get my mail today, and to my shock and suprise there was a letter from the wtbts!!
as i walked back inside i was really hoping that the letter was a response to my 4 page da letter(that letter was not accepted, i was dfed anyway as i've said before).
i had asked them why the local elders had grounds for dfing among many other questions.
-
thinkers wife
Nate,
Let me get this straight, I must have missed your bio somewhere along the line.
You da'ed yourself and the df'ed you instead? Unbelievable. Not that I don't believe you, just one more thing on my list.

Welcome Gianluca,
Glad the pics came up anyway. I didn't know the actual grave was in the Masonic graveyard either! Always nice to see the whole picture. Pun intended.
